Of all the good reasons to use PSI for your electronic repair, perhaps none is more important than our extensive use of system testing. When you elect to have us repair your electronic components, they are given a thorough evaluation, and are expertly diagnosed for problems on advanced test equipment such as our Diagnosys Pinpoint I and II, and Huntron Probers. Your electronic components are then repaired by our trained, conscientious technicians, who have at their disposal a wide array of state-of-the-art electronic repair tools.
The next step in the electronic repair process is what separates us from all other competitors. After the repair is completed, your component is installed into a system that's identical to the one from which it came, then system tested. At PSI we have invested several million dollars in purchasing the same systems that operate in your plant. This means that if you send us an Allen Bradley programmable controller board, it is repaired and then tested in an Allen Bradley controller. The same is true for Modicon components, Square D, Fanuc, Kuka, Reliance, Siemens, GE and dozens of other brand name electronic board manufacturers. System testing is the only way to guarantee repair integrity, and that's why our facilities look a lot like yours - complete with all the systems you use in your plant.

Other special elements of our electronic repair services include heat testing of temperature sensitive components and a comprehensive anti-static program.

At a first station, a circuit board is loaded onto the table, and a microscope can be swung into position for inspection of the loaded board. At a second station, an intended component or circuit board site can be aligned by way of a visual image of the component and site, and the table locked in position. At a third station, the selected component or circuit board site is automatically in alignment with a programmable heater for selected heating of the component contacts and removal of the component by a pickup probe associated with the heater. The system is calibrated such that there is alignment between a visually established position at the second station and that component position under the heater at the third station. Components can also be attached to selected sites of a circuit board by operation of the system.
